Janice Ramsey Smith

Janice Marie Ramsey Smith, 65 of Eden, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11am – Noon.

Janice was born September 17, 1959 in Chatham, VA, to the late Eldridge Howell Ramsey and Oleta Littleheart Baugh Ramsey. She worked at the Brian Center in Eden as a cook for many years. She loved cooking and gardening. Janice enjoyed watching classic TV shows and playing games on her phone. She was an avid journaler. Janice loved listening to music, particularly Aaron Tippen. Her favorite song was “Delta Dawn.”

Surviving are her sons, Daniel Smith and John Smith; brothers, Michael Ramsey and Allen Ramsey; her best friend, Ruby Scales.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Douglas Smith, and her son, David Matthew Smith.
