Jane Rhodes Boggs

Jane Rhodes Boggs, 70, of Stoneville, passed Tuesday July 5, 2022, at UNC Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Center in Eden.

A funeral service will be held 11am Friday, July 8, 2022, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2415 Settlebridge Rd, Stoneville, NC 27048, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, 5-7pm, at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Jane was born October 29, 1951, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Robert Clarence Rhodes, Sr. and Magdaline Ore Rhodes. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Stoneville. Jane graduated from Stoneville High School, Class of 1970. She went on to receive her Diploma in Nursing from The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Danville Va., in 1973. Later, she earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing from The University of North Carolina Greensboro Class of 1980-1981. As an RN, Jane worked for Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden for over 30 years, first as a floor nurse and later in risk management.

Jane always had a special place in her heart for those in need. This was evident in her professional life as a nurse as well as in her personal life. She made many sacrifices to provide care and support for her parents in their later years. She was also very active in her church, Centenary United Methodist, and in the Shiloh Community with the fire department and other activities in the community such as bake sales, breakfasts, and hot dog dinners.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Robert C. (Kitty) Rhodes, Jr. of Madison; nephew, Dallas (Angela) Rhodes of Rural Hall; great nephews, Aire Rhodes and Dameron Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Boggs.
