James Stephen Wray

Jim Wray of Cascade, Virginia, died unexpectedly on March 19, 2022, at the age of 53, while at his home.

Jim was born in Eden on December 3, 1968, to Steve and Gladys Wray He was predeceased by his father, Steve Wray, and wife, Tina Wray. Grandparents were John and Eva Wray and James and Dawn Jones of Eden. Jim worked construction most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator. He loved and adored his grandchildren. He loved his country living and fishing. He was a member of Saving Grace Church located on Fieldcrest Rd in Eden. There, he helped our Pastor, Gary Grubbs, remodel and get the church ready for services. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his mother, Gladys Jones; sister, Nikki Wray and Jon Carlisle of Eden, and her two children, Savannah and Colton; brother, John Wray and his wife, Ronda, of Greensboro, and their two sons, Zane and Alex; son, Cody Wray and wife, Stephanie, of Eden, and their two children, Emma and Ava; daughter, Jessie Lynch of Ringgold, VA, and her three children, Trinity, Tristen, and Autumn.

A celebration of Jim’s life is planned for Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the home of his mother, Gladys Jones, from 3pm-5pm.
