James "Nick" Dewey Gravely

October 2, 1922 — December 18, 2012

James "Nick" Dewey Gravely, 90, of 110 Moony Street in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Gravely was born October 2, 1922 in Rockingham County, son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Davis Gravely. He was a US Army and US Navy veteran. Mr. Gravely retired from American Furniture Company.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Gravely of the home; daughter, Karen Pickurel and husband, James, of Ramseur; two step-sons, Roger Austin of Ridgeway and Gene Austin of Eden; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alan Gravely.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 P) at Fair Funeral Home.
