James "June Bug" Nathan Edwards, Jr., 63, of 206 Greenwood Street in Eden, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A visitation only, will be held on Friday, November 4, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home.
Mr. Edwards was born October 20, 1953 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late James Nathan Edwards, Sr. and Mary Biggs Edwards. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and was of the Christian faith. Nathan had over 20 years of service with Spray Cotton Mills and later worked as a carpenter and painter. He loved shopping for and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his three children, Wendy Southard (Vance) of Madison, Casey Starkey (Michael) of Stokesdale and Thomas Edwards of Eden; three grandchildren, Mary Alex Davis (Jonathan), Dallas Southard and Grayson Starkey; one great-grandson, Daxton Davis; brothers, Wayne Edwards and Ray Edwards (Shelly), both of Eden; sisters, Elizabeth "Sis" Slaughter and Linda Hall (Larry) both of Eden; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen Pulliam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Fair Funeral Home, PO Box 337, Eden, NC 27289, to assist with funeral expenses.
