James Leslie Perkins

James Leslie Perkins, 59, of Eden passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Hospice of Rockingham County’s Gibson House.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11am, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

James was born May 17, 1964, in Cumberland County, NC. He was a member of Spray Baptist Church. James worked in HVAC-R at Cone Health. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his loving wife, Judy Gardner Perkins of the home; son, Matthew Harrison Perkins of the home; brother, Christopher Allen Newman (Martha) of Martinsville, VA; sister, Lisa McGehee (Randy) of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Tucker Newman and step-father, Jesse Taylor Newman.

Another special thank-you to Wayne Roberson, a wonderful and dear friend and neighbor who has been a true Godsend. Also, thank-you to Raven Manseau for being there at times when others were unable.
