James "Jimmy" M. Hodges

Mr. James M. ?��Ǩ?�Jimmy?��Ǩ�� Hodges, age 62 of Smyrna, passed away August 25, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville.

Jimmy was born September 21, 1952 in Leaksville, NC and was the son of the late Charles Livingston Hodges and Pauline Cora Hopper Hodges.

He loved music and shared his talents through songwriting, recording and playing bass and guitar. He was also a gifted painter and created many beautiful works.

To relax, Jimmy would head toward the beach where he enjoyed the beauty of the ocean, sand and sunsets. He especially enjoyed his travels to Florida.

Above all, though, Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends. Those moments are now precious memories to many to be cherished for years to come.

He is survived by his wife: Jeannie Hodges; and a brother: David (Tammy) Hodges, both of Smyrna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.

The family will gather with friends on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Pegram, 4548 Sunnyfield Dr, Pegram from 4:00 until 8:00 PM for visitation. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 1st at 12:30 PM at the church, with visitation one hour prior.

Jimmy served in the United States Army in the 1970?��Ǩ�Ѣs, and to recognize and honor his service, he will be laid to rest with military honors at the Pavillion at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN on Tuesday, September 1 at 2:00 PM. Nashville Funeral and Cremation Service are in charge of arrangements.
