James "Jimmy" Judson Worsham, III, 71, of 2101 Lick Fork Creek Road in Ruffin, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 6th, at Ruffin United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Ruffin Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Jimmy was born February 13, 1947 in Danville, VA. He was a graduate of Ruffin High School, Class of 1966 and attended Hargrave Military Academy and Rockingham Community College. He was a member of Ruffin United Methodist Church where he served on several committees over the past years. Jimmy was a retired volunteer fireman for the Ruffin Fire Department and had served as Treasurer for the Ruffin Cemetery Fund. He was the owner and operator of Worsham Pipe Company and Ruffin Cross Tie Yard.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Slaydon Worsham of the home; two daughters, Amanda Vernon and husband, Russell and Amber Neal and husband, Keith, all of Reidsville; three grandchildren, Blaklea and Kimber Neal and Carter Vernon; and his mother, Frances Early Worsham Fair of Eden.
Mr. Worsham was preceded in death by his father, James Judson Worsham, II and his step-father, James M. Fair, Sr.
