James "Jim" Franklin Stewart

November 30, 1950 — August 1, 2023

James “Jim” Franklin Stewart, 72, of Stoneville, NC, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

The funeral service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, 432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288, on Saturday, August 5, 2023 beginning at 11:00am with Reverend Dwayne Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Jim was born in Rockingham County, NC, on November 30, 1950, to the late Robert and Pauline Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sandra Morton, Kathy Isley, brothers, Paul and Bobby Stewart, and son, Christopher James Stewart.

Jim was a graduate of Stoneville High School and went to work at Pannill Knitting Company right after graduation. He stayed with the company through multiple name changes before finally retiring from then-known National Textiles after 30 years of dedicated service. Jim was the Plant Manager of Dyeing and Finishing and was well-respected by his peers and employees.

Jim was a loving husband and wonderful father. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughters, Tina and Marlana Stewart; special friend, Bee Case; and granddogs, Tucker, Kinsey, and Maci; sister, Becky Hopkins (Glenn); brothers, Wayne "PeeWee" Stewart (Ruby) and Mike Stewart; sisters-in-laws, Charlotte Stewart and Faye Stewart; many nieces and nephews. 

Jim was a member of Roberts Memorial Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He was a good-hearted family man, loved to laugh and joke around, and was a big Carolina basketball fan.

The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Ennever and the cancer center staff for their compassion and exceptional care.
