James "Jim" Carl Pryon, Jr.

James "Jim" Carl Pyron, Jr., 94, of 235 Bryant Street in Eden, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, August 7, at Church of the Epiphany in Eden.

A native of Rockingham County, NC, Mr. Pyron was born June 2, 1920 to the late James Carl Pyron and Frieda Venske Pyron. He was a lifetime member of Church of the Epiphany and was one of the founding members of the Eden Kiwanis Club. Mr. Pyron was the owner of Pyron's Jewelry, Inc. for over 44 years before retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Morris and husband, Henry of Waxhaw; son, Jim Pryon, III and wife, Susan, of Eden; brother, George Pyron and wife, Arletta of Stoneville; special friend, Betty Clark of Eden; three grandsons, Michael Morris and wife, Crissy, of Waxhaw, Charlie Pyron of Queens, NY, and Matthew Pyron of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Natalie Pyron of Oak Island and Elizabeth McBroom and husband, Kevin, of Hurdle Mills; great-grandson, Will Morris, serving in the US Marine Corp; great-granddaughter, Morgan Morris of Charlotte; and very special caregiver, Bobby Hampton of Eden.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Grogan Pyron and a great-grandson, Howard Morris.

A special thank you is extended to Dr. Shah and his staff for all of their care and support.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the parrish hall of Church of the Epiphany.
