James "J.D." David Carter

James “J.D.” David Carter, 73, of Ridgeway, Va, passed on January 23, 2022 at Sovah Health in Danville, Va.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, at 2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, with burial to follow at Danview Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 5-7pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

J.D. was born on December 15, 1948 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late James Carter and Gracie Scott Carter. He worked as a truck driver, owner/operator, until his retirement. J.D. loved life. He was full of life. He was a hard working, family man. J.D. loved his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ginger Carter and fiancé Shawn of Greensboro; brothers, Frankie Carter of Eden, Junior Carter of Lawsonville, Timmy Carter of Eden, Rodney Carter of Eden; sisters, Gloria Younts of Eden, Peggy Grogan of Eden; grandchildren, Macy Carter and Kinley Carter; and Paula McDaniel, his loving companion of 43 years.

J.D. was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his beloved wife and mother of his children, Donna Mills Carter; son, James “Jae” David Carter, Jr.; sister, Geraldine Pratt.
