James Harvey Smith

James Harvey Smith, age 89 of 230 Memorial Baptist Church Road, Stoneville, NC, passed away on Saturday July 23, 2016 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Stoneville City Cemetery. The family and friends will gather after the graveside service at his home.

Mr. Smith was born August 11, 1926 in Rockingham County to the late William Harvey Smith and Callie Biggs Smith.  He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He was the owner and operator of Virginia-Carolina Spray Booth Company.

Surviving are wife Estelle Clark Smith of the home; daughters, Betty S. Handy of Stoneville and Gail Page of Eden; granddaughters, Kathy Price (Steve) of Greensboro, Melssia Hogan (Lynn) of Reidsville and Alicia Robertson (Dinky) of Stoneville; grandsons, Todd Smith of Georgia and Darrell Handy of Reidsville; 8 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded by daughter, Patina Smith.

The family would like to thank the staff of Morehead Memorial Hospital and Morehead Nursing Center for all their loving care toward Mr. Smith.
