James "Bud" William Pratt

James “Bud” William Pratt, 100, of Stoneville, NC passed Saturday, August 27, 2022 at W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
A graveside service will be held 11am Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden. Military Honors will be given by the Rockingham County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

James was born September 2, 1921 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Joseph Pratt and Essie Barker Pratt. After graduation, James served his country in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a tobacco farmer for many years. James retired from John Smith and Sons Construction where he worked as a carpenter.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Barbara Joyce and husband Jerry of Stoneville; granddaughter, Ginger Williams (Scott) of Reidsville; grandsons, Randy Joyce (Susan) of Stoneville, Barry Joyce of Stoneville; great-grandchildren, Kaysy Joyce, Rebecca Kallam (Randy), Brook Craig (Mike), Kyla Dorminy (Dalton), Jerri Anne Hill (Dustin), Chloe Joyce; great-great-grandchildren, Rylee Craig, Taylor Manual, Gavin Dorminy, Eli Kallam, Emry Kallam.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Hutcherson Pratt.
