James B. Dishmon

James “Booker” Dishmon, 74, of Eden passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday, October 20, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home.
Booker was born June 14, 1949, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Jesse “Badeye” Dishmon and Hallie Holly Dishmon. Booker served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Reidsville. Booker was an old car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows and meeting new people.

Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Hopkins Dishmon of the home; children, Jerry Dishmon of Axton, VA, and Teresa Hazelwood of Eden, NC; granddaughter, Briana Lemons (Matt) of Eden, NC; great-granddaughter, Delilah Lemons; brother, Wallace Dishmon (Paula) of Eden, NC; sister, Margaret Porter (Johnny) of Eden, NC; two special nephews, Billy and Dale, along with numerous other special nieces and nephews; special companion, his dog Charlie.

In addition to his parents, Booker was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Booth and Ann Shropshire; brothers, Robert “Bub” Dishmon and William Dishmon.
