Jacqueline "Jackie" Hunter McBride, age 81, 708 2A Meadow Green Village, passed away on Friday October 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery. Jackie was born September 17, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late Charles Edwin Hunter, Sr. and Ruth Carter Hunter. She was a lifetime member of Riverview Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer at Morehead Memorial Hospital and a member of Draper Y Menette. Jackie retired from Fieldcrest Mills with almost 40 years of service. Preceding Jackie in death along with her parents were her loving husband and best friend for 50 years Tommie McBride; brother; Charles E. Hunter, Jr. and special sister in law; Ruby Hunter, sisters; Edna H. Self, Pauline H. Harris and Edith H. Washburn. Surviving are daughters; Sheri Barker and husband Jeff of Eden, Tina M. Rice and husband Bill of Cincinnati, sons; Randy McBride and wife Kathy of Wilmington, Nc , Todd McBride and wife Lisa of Huntsville, Al., grandchildren; Ashley Tuttle, Reid and Alex Rice, Kristen and Blake McBride, Tyler Dalton, Katie Parker and Hunter McBride and Brooke Blount; great grandchildren, Hailey, Thomas and Payton Tuttle, Audrey Blount, Conner McBride, sister, Fleta Martin; special nieces, Norma S. Woody and Barbara H. Wright. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 7 -9 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
