Jackie Lee Compton

Jackie Lee Compton, 83, of Ridgeway passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 2pm at Compton Family Cemetery on Drag Mountain Rd in Ridgeway.

Jackie was born March 21, 1940, in Henry County, VA, to the late Charlie Monroe Compton and Ollie Haynes Compton. He worked at Virginia Glass Co. until his retirement. Jackie enjoyed reading his Bible and watching westerns on tv. He loved his dog, Cletus.

Surviving are his sister-in-law, Betty Ward Compton; great nephew, James Compton, Jr.; great-great-nephew, Bret Compton (Emalee).

In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Compton, Willie Mason Compton, Noah James Compton, Cecil Compton; sister, Evelyn Sink.
