Jackie K. Mccarty

Jackie Kenneth McCarty, 83, of 391 Oak Hill Farm Road in Pelham, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 2, 2019, at  the NC Veteran's Home in Salisbury.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. McCarty was born August 2, 1936 in Vinton, VA to the late Ivy Edgar McCarty and Evelyn Hall McCarty.  He was a US Navy Korean War veteran and a retired truck driver for Dan River Mills.  He enjoyed gardening and working on his farm.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Barker McCarty of the home;  three sons, Jody McCarty of Broswell, VA, Jackie McCarty, Jr. of Florida, and Kenneth McCarty of Reidsville;  two grandchildren;  one step-daughter, Angela Allen of Colorado;  and one brother, Leroy McCarty of Broswell, VA.
