Jack Tuttle Kellam, 87, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday night, February 5, 2015, at his home in Roanoke.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, February 9, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kellam was born August 1, 1927 in Spray, NC to the late Samuel A. and Mattie Gibson Kallam. He was a World War II Army veteran and a lifetime member of a VFW chapter in Maryland. He was the retired owner and operator of Mallek Construction Company.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Philpott Kellam, of the home; daughters, Cynthia Thornburg of Chincoteague, VA, Sharon Phillips and husband, Charles of Waldorf, MD, Leigh Cooksey and husband, Robert of Charlotte Hall, MD, Lynn Dennison of Cobb Island, MD, Lisa Snyder of Indian Head, MD; step-daughter, Chelsea Senter of Newport News, VA; son, Zachariah Kellam of Roanoke, VA; step-son, Joshua Senter of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Kallam and wife, Glenda of Atlanta, GA; sister, Ann Hill of Eden, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jack T. Kellam, Jr.; three brothers, Pete, Derwood and Wallace Kellam; and three sisters, Katherine Ratliff, Gilda Lee, and Margaret Almond.
There will be no formal visitation.
