Jack Clinton Travis, 77, of Robin Rd. Eden, passed away Sunday February 12, 2012 at Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. Jack was born February 14, 1934 to the late John Henry and Winnie Lee Benton Travis. He was a retired electrician of 33 years, a member of the I.B.E.W. and former owner - operator of Auto Supply in Eden, and a member of Belews Creek Christian Church. Jack is survived by daughter; Vickie Travis Vernon and husband Gary of Stoneville, son; Gregg Travis of Eden, grandchildren; Micheal Barnes, Jennifer Robinson, Brooke Travis, great grandchildren; Christopher Jones, Savannah Barnes, Jessiee Robinson. Very special best friend, June Comer Morton, Walkertown, N.C., brother; William E. Travis of Flint, Michigan, sister; Irene Hadaway, Concord, Ca., special nephews; Gene, Don, Mike Travis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Odell Travis, 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Visitation will be 7-9 Wednesday evening and other times at the daughters home 2970 N.C. Hwy. 135, Stoneville, N.C.
