Howard Eugene Johnson, Sr.

Howard Eugene Johnson, Sr., 82, of Eden passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Monday, April 22, 2024 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.

Gene, as he was called, was born September 19, 1941 to the late George T. Johnson and Rosie J. Johnson. He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church for more than fifty years. He enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Caudle Johnson of the home, and children, Howard Eugene Johnson, Jr. (Lauren) of Burlington, NC, Joey Johnson (Jan) of Eden, NC, and Angie Shafer (Todd) of Ashland, OH. Grandchildren are Howard Johnson, III, Sydney Johnson, Jonathan and Jackson Shafer. Also surviving are his brother, Bobby Johnson (Marie) and sister, Faye Benson.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Todd Johnson, Jr., and sister, Lydia Frances and G.B. Johnson.
