Herman "Wally" Blackwell

Herman Wallace “Wally” Blackwell, 82 of Eden, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Ancora Compassionate Care in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. Visitation will be held at Fair Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Wally was born October 20, 1942 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Charles E. Blackwell and Gracie Ellen Earles Blackwell. He worked as a supervisor at Karastan Rug Mill for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Wally are his brothers, Henry Blackwell and Thomas Blackwell; sister, Lilly Hixon; nephews, William East (Riza) and John East (Andrea); along with numerous nieces and nephews and his extended family at Rio Grande Restaurant.

In addition to his parents, Wally is preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Blackwell, William “Dink” Blackwell, Charlie Blackwell, Norman Blackwell, and Billy Troxler, and sisters, Elizabeth Melton, Annie Mae Troxler, Charlotte Clark, and Betty East.
