Herbert Dillard "H. D." Rorrer

Herbert Dillard "H.D." Rorrer, 75, of 1861 Morgan Ford Road in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Wednesday morning, June 13, 2012, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 15, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Ashley Loop in Reidsville.

Mr. Rorrer was born January 12, 1937 in Draper, NC, son of the late Bunyon and Louvenia Rakes Rorrer. He was a retiree of General Motors Company in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Rorrer was a member of Kearffort Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sandra DeHart Rorrer of the home; sons, Herbert Dillard Rorrer, Jr. and William D. Rorrer, both of Ridgeway; daughter, Faith Marie Rorrer of Vesta, VA; and brother, Robert L. Rorrer and wife, Carol, of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Rorrer; and sister, Kitty B. Hampton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
