Henry Allen Pendleton

Henry Allen Pendleton, Sr., 82, of 2840 Worsham Mill Road in Ruffin, passed away Sunday morning, September 9, 2012, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 12, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Pendleton was born July 23, 1930 in Floyd County, VA, son of the late Roy Lee and Lora Mae Vipperman Pendleton. He was a member of Reidsville Christian Church and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills after 29 years of service. Mr. Pendleton enjoyed doing woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Irene McPeak Pendleton of the home; daughters, Fleeta P. Thompson and husband, Charles of Eden, Sandra P. Hardy of Reidsville, Nancy Marchman of Reidsville and Jane Pendleton of Eden; sons Henry Allen Pendleton, Jr. and wife, Debra of Eden, Lee Pendleton of Ruffin and Howard Pendleton and wife, Madonna of Stoneville; brother, Wilburn Pendleton and wife, Lois of Ringgold, VA; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy E. Pendleton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
