Helen Young Gilley

Helen Young Gilley, 88, passed away Thursday morning at Brian Center of Eden. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 11, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow the service in Dan View Cemetery.  

Mrs. Gilley was born in the Draper section of Eden on March 20, 1928 to the late Alex Young and Elise Dix Young.  She retired from Fieldcrest Mills.  She was a loving person that will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Eggleston of Eden; nieces, Romona Harbour and husband, Eddie, Wetona Billings, Lisa Evans, all of Ruffin and Karen Eggleston of Burlington;  nephews, Lanney Gilley and wife, Anna of Eden, Michael Gilley and wife, Wendy of Ruffin and James Eggleston of Ruffin;  and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Gilley; infant daughter;  and a sister, Juanita Young Evans.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday (1 – 2 pm) and other times at the home of niece, Romona Harbour; 114 Triangle Station Road, Ruffin, NC.
