Helen McDaniel Stewart, 85 of 1593 Town Creek Road, Eden passed away on Saturday afternoon at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday the 5th of May at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Helen was born May 2, 1924 in Danville, Va. to the late Joel and Mattie Roach McDaniel. She was a member of the Dan River Primitive Baptist Church and the former owner and operator of Stewarts Store. Surviving are son Ronald " Ronnie" Lee Stewart and wife Sheila of Eden, grandson; Brandon Lee Stewart of Wilmington, sister; Shirley Vaughn and husband Thomas of Texas, numerous neices and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Lester Stewart, brother; J.C. McDaniel, and sisters; Madeline Burnette, Margaret Barber, and Gladys Moschler.
