Helen Martin Clark

Gertrude "Helen" Martin Clark, 84, of 134 Aiken Road in Eden, passed away Sunday evening, January 8, 2017, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, January 11, at Fair Funeral Home.  Entombment will follow in Overlook Mausoleum.

Helen was born January 22, 1932 in Spray, North Carolina, to the late John and Mollie Jo Bateman Martin.  She attended Spray United Methodist Church.  Helen worked for many years in the cafeteria at Douglas Elementary School.  She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.  Helen was a selfless person, always thinking of her family and friends.  She will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Clark Johnson and husband, Charles, of the home and grandson, Tanner Reid Johnson of the home.

In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Clark;  sister, Christine Martin Brigman;  and brother, Aubrey Martin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2 - 3 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
