Helen M. Ferris

Helen M. Ferris, 93, of 114 The Boulevard, passed away early Monday morning, November 28, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.  Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery. 

Mrs. Ferris was born January 27, 1923 in Leaksville, NC, to the late John D. and Betty Patterson McCollum.  She was a member of Church of Christ in Ridgeway, VA and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. 

She is survived by her son, Everett James Ferris, Jr. (Emily) of Eden; grandchildren, Stephanie Ferris Martin (Brandon) of Eden, Brian Steven Ferris of Eden, and Robert Everett Ferris (Keren) of Winston-Salem, NC; two great-grandchildren, Haley N. Hudgins and Chase S. Martin; daughter-in-law, Karen Ferris Gibson (Bill) of Eden; sister, Patsy McCollum Underwood of Eden; sister-in-law, Eunice Baker Smith (John) of Eden; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett James Ferris, Sr.; son, Steven Ray Ferris; infant daughter, Jayne Ferris and ten brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service (12-2pm) on Wednesday and other times at the home of Karen Ferris Gibson, 401 Daisy Court, Eden.
