Helen Kallam Lemons, 90 of Eden, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Eden.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, September 19, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at other times at 814 Morgan Rd, Eden.
Helen was a devoted mother of four, grandmother to six, great-grandmother to thirteen, and great-great-grandmother to four. She served as the steadfast center of her family, guiding them with her example of commitment, unity, and love.
Born on Christmas Eve, Helen carried a lifelong delight for the holiday season, finding joy in its spirit of togetherness and celebration. Helen’s Sunday dinners became a cherished family tradition, bringing loved ones together in fellowship and joy, and leaving memories that will be treasured for generations. After Marvin’s passing, she missed him every day. Her own departure on his birthday stands as a tender reminder of their lasting love and her heart’s desire to be reunited with him in heaven.
Surviving are her daughter, Ann Denny (Rodger), son, Mike Lemons (Nina), daughter, Kathy Lindsay (Tommy), daughter-in-law, Fonda Lemons. Also surviving are her grandchildren Earl Lemons, Jr. (Cathy), Matthew Lemons (Liz), Tommy Lindsay, Jr. (Brittany), Jessica Engel (Richard), Kelly LaPrade (Willy), Taylor Lake (Roby), great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, along with her special cousin, Herman Kallam, and caregiver, Shirley Williams.
In addition to her parents Charlie and Nina Watkins Kallam, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marvin Lemons, son, Earl Lemons, and six brothers and sisters.
Her kindness and devotion were felt by all who knew her. Helen’s legacy of faith, family, and compassion will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched.
