Hazel Yvonne Hudson

Hazel Yvonne Smith Hudson, 87 of Reidsville, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12-1pm.

Hazel was born March 16, 1938 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Early Wyatt and Naomi Walker Wyatt. She worked as a knitter machine operator at Bassett Walker until her retirement. She enjoyed playing guitar and singing Bluegrass Gospel. Hazel loved playing for folks. Mostly, she loved her grandchildren and family, and spending time with them.

Surviving are her husband, Colon “Bill” Hudson of the home; children, Emma McGuire of Eden, Justin “Bubba” Smith (Jacklyn) of Raeford, Evan “Jack” Smith (Lisa) of Eden, Billie Jean Rodgers of Eden, Stanley Smith (Carol) of Eden, Lena Rea (Danny) of Ridgeway, VA; stepchildren, Sherry Cox (Billy) of Eden, Gary Hudson (Ruthie) of Reidsville, Larry Hudson (Sandra) of Reidsville; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Hazel is also survived by her special friends, Nell Hale, Ethel Presnell, and Louise Gusler; special niece and her son, Lori and Roger Conner; and step-granddaughter, Emaleigh Hudson.

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy “Bill” Smith, and sister, Beverly Roberts.
