Hattie Parks Jarrell

Hattie Elizabeth Parks Jarrell, age 100, originally of 198 Jarrell Farm Road Reidsville, NC, passed away on Sunday morning, December 31, 2017 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Mount Hermon Baptist Chuch with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Ashley Loop Road. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church from 1 - 2 pm and other times at the of home of her daughter, Billie Thomas, 170 Jarrell Farm Road, Reidsville, NC.

Mrs. Jarrell was born November 30, 1917 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Tyre Edgar Parks and Bertie Etta Smith Parks.  She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was husband of 74 years, George William Jarrell; son, Larry David Jarrell ; brothers, Paul Edgar Parks and Ray Martin Parks; sister, Navassa Parks Borland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jarrell is survived by her daughter, Billie Jarrell Thomas and husband John of Reidsville; grandchildren, James Richard Thomas and wife Debbie of Bahama, NC;  Sharon Thomas Justice of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren, Faith, Hannah and Luke Justice also of Greenville; Ben Johnson and wife Jensen of Durham and Matt Johnson of Bahama, NC and fiance` Nakia Larios of Durham; great-great grandaughter, Ellington Johnson of Durham. 

The family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Daniel and the staff at Morehead Nursing Center (South Hall) and Amedysis Hospice, for all their support, compassion and care.
