Hallie South Odell Barnes

Hallie South Odell Barnes, 92, of Ridgeway,Va. and most recently of Pelham, NC passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville. A funeral service will be held on 2 pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, Va. Mrs. Barnes was born April 30, 1919 in Henry County, Va. to the late Paschal " Pak" and Martha Stanley Odell. She attended Smith Memorial Holliness Church in the Horsepasture community. She celebrated her life through music and church work. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 grandson , Wayne Hancock, 3 sisters, 5 brothers and husbands. Surviving are her daughters, Jewel S. Griffin and husband George of Ridgeway; July S. Hardy of Pelham, and Jerlean Pruitt and husband Jerry of Madison, NC; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 pm til 2 pm on Wednesday and other times at the home's of the daughters.
