Gracie Lucille Fain Jefferson, 86, of 503 Boone Road in Eden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2016, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, February 5, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery.
Mrs. Jefferson was born May 24, 1929 in Spray, NC to the late John Wesley Fain and Sarah Gilley Fain. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Gracie enjoyed crocheting and candy making.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Jefferson, of the home; sister, Patsy F. Farmer and husband, Raymond of Eden, and their children, John Farmer and Ginger F. Neal; sister-in-law, Sylvia Shelton Fain of Virginia Beach, VA and her children, Dixie F. Newton, Janice L. Fain, and Sarah L. Fain; and extended family, Marlene R. Thornton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Branford M. Jefferson; brother, Curtis Denzil Fain; and sister, Levanna Fain.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregiver's that took such good care of Mrs. Jefferson; Darlene Riddle, Tabatha Hall, Kathy Johnson, Dorothy Durham, and Mandy Kirks; a special thanks to the Hospice of Rockingham County Nurses; and to Alice Hundley and Lynda Burnette for the many meals they provided.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, 7 - 8:30 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
