Glynda Joyce Shelton

May 24, 1944 — March 10, 2022

Glynda Joyce Shelton, 77, formerly of Gerry St. in Stoneville, NC, passed Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Clapps Nursing Center, Inc. in Pleasant Garden, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC, with burial to follow at Stoneville Municipal Cemetery in Stoneville, NC.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her daughter, Candy Wilson, 493 Dogwood Acres Lane, Madison, NC.

Glynda was born May 24, 1944, in Greensboro, NC, to the late John Lewis Joyce, Sr. and Margaret Ellington Joyce.  She was a member of Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Glynda worked as a supervisor in food services at Morehead Memorial Hospital prior to her retirement.  She loved going to and holding yard sales, doing yard work, and reading.  She also enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches, and was a collector of Snow White figurines.  Most of all, Glynda loved spending her time with her grandchildren.

Glynda considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising three girls on her own.  She overcame odds and obstacles to ensure they were brought up to be accomplished, respectable, independent, Christian women.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robyn Shelton Schon, Kimberly Shelton Crews (David), Candy Shelton Wilson (Robbie); grandchildren, Caroline Melia Crews (Isaac), Chase Wilson (Adriana), Magan Olivia Wilson, Chandler Boyle (Joe), Reeves Thompson (Caitlin); great-grandchild, Riverlynn Mae Wilson; special niece & nephew, Dee Ann Smith (Rodney), Kevin Joyce (Tammy); brother, Mike Joyce (Beverline); sister, Annette Joyce; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Lewis Joyce, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or Family Service of the Piedmont.
