Gloria Bryant Wilkins

Gloria Bryant Wilkins, 83, of Eden passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Eden. 

A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at First Wesleyan Church, 607 Church St, Eden. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden. The family will receive friends at 624 Morgan Rd, Eden.

Gloria was born June 14, 1940 in Spray, NC, to the late Lidge Albert Bryant and Lois Sams Bryant. She was a devoted member of First Wesleyan Church in Eden her entire life. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Gloria was a member of Widow’s for Christ Club. She played Duck Pin Bowling at the Draper YMCA. For more than 20 years, Gloria worked at Bassett-Walker as a machine operator, retiring in 1997. She then worked at Unifi as an inspector, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Gloria was a loving mother and grandmother and great-grandmother, lovingly called Nana by all children she met.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Freda W. Sands (“Taco”), Regina W. Snyder (“Bobby”), and Albert N. Wilkins, son-in-law, Buster Emerson, along with four grandchildren, Pam Manley, Kristy Woods, Albert Lawrence, and Libby Patterson, and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Stump (Richard), sisters-in-law, Judy Bryant and Charlotte Bryant, brothers-in-law, Jim Caldwell and Howard Hopkins.

In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa W. Emerson, brothers, Benson Bryant, Phillip Bryant, Billy Bryant, Ronnie Bryant, and Wayne Bryant, and sisters, Muriel Caldwell and Nancy Hopkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 607 Church St, Eden, NC 27288.
