Glenn William Pharis, 80, of 858 Friendly Road in Eden, passed away Monday morning, June 1, 2015, at Morehead Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, June 3, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery.
Mr. Pharis was born January 12, 1935 in Eden, NC, to the late Percy Clement Pharis and Cora Baliles Pharis. He was a member of a non-denominational Christian church. Glenn worked for 10 years at Fieldcrest Mills in the dye house and later worked as a security guard at Rockingham Community College and the Rockingham County Governmental Center in Wentworth.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Pharis of Eden; brother, Ernest Pharis and wife, Donna of Youngsville, NC; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; brother-in-law, Anthony Allen and wife, Kay of Winston-Salem; and close friends, Barbara Stratton and Delores Walker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Pharis and sister, Ruby P. Baughn.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the physical therapy and occupational therapy departments at Morehead Nursing Center.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, from 2 - 3 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
