Glenn Junior Younts

Glenn Junior Younts, 83, of 113 Della Drive in Eden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 16, 2012, at Jacob's Creek Nursing Center in Madison.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 19, at Lawson Cemetery, located on Patterson Street in Eden.

Mr. Younts was born May 29, 1929 in Lexington, NC, son of the late Wade and Lou Wallser Younts. He was a US Army veteran, serving 1948 to 1952. Mr. Younts was a retired heavy equipment operator for Martin-Marietta Construction Company. He was an avid sports fan of baseball, basketball and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Carter Younts of the home; son, Gene Younts of Reidsville; daughter, Angela Hall of Eden; step-daughter, Regina Bautista of Martinsville, VA; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Glenn Younts, Anthony Lee Younts, Jonathan Younts, Kevin Younts, India Younts, Randall Thomasson and Samantha Hall; brothers Calvin and Odell Younts and sister, Treva Weaver, all of Lexington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy K. Younts and Rodey E. Younts; the mother of his children, Hazel Martin Younts; brother, Floyd and sister, Dorothy .

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son, Gene, at 196 Glen Meadows Drive in Reidsville.
