Gladys Turner Ledwell

December 20, 1932 — October 15, 2016

Gladys Odeane “Dean” Turner Ledwell, age 83 was called by her Heavenly Father to come home on Saturday, October 15, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  

Mrs. Ledwell was born in Leaksville, now Eden, to the late Reverend Oscar Turner and Mrs. Mildred Turner.  She was a Leaksville High School graduate and retired from the Rockingham County Department of Social Services.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by infant son, Keith Turner Chilton.

Mrs. Ledwell is survived by her daughters, Kathy Witt and husband, Ray of Eden and Sonya Sherman and husband, David of White House, TN; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Eric Witt both of Eden, Meagan Orand of Spring Hill, TN, Sean Keyes, Courtney, Zoe and Grace Sherman all of TN; five great-grandchildren, Lainey and Lochlan Orand, Bennett Keyes, Lexi MacIntosh and Carter Witt.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (3-4pm) and other times at the home of her daughter, Kathy, 213 Rhodes Road of Eden.

“I would probably be a little disappointed if you didn’t love me enough to shed a few tears, but don’t grieve for me.  I am at perfect peace and rejoicing in the presence of my Lord.” – Gladys Ledwell

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Brian Center and the 400 hall for the years of caring service shown to Mrs. Ledwell during her stay.
