Gladys Lorene Crowell Gunter, 88, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Morehead Nursing Center following a short illness. The funeral service will be Tuesday June 11, 11:00 am at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend A.C. Brock officiating. Burial will take place in Clay Cemetery, Princeton, Alabama.

Gladys Lorene was born March 22, 1925 in Jackson County, Alabama to the late William Charles and Leona Swafford Crowell. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her brother, Charles Edsel Crowell, two daughters, Janice Gunter Shepherd and Vanessa Loraine Gunter, two grandchildren, Jennifer Shepherd Harris and Michael Brian Shepherd, four great grandchildren, Abbi Shepherd, Anna Shepherd, Audrey Shepherd and Nolan Harris. Preceeding her in death are her husband, Lorenzo Lafayette Gunter, two sisters, Bessie Mae Maples and Olita Elliander Snipes, three brothers, Johnny Netherland Crowell, Leonard Monroe Crowell and William Crowell.
