George Wesley Priddy, 79, of 419 Glovenia Street in Eden, passed away Sunday evening, April 29, 2012 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 2, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Priddy was born April 6, 1933 in Stokes County, NC, son of the late Silas and Gladys Parrish Priddy. He was a US Army veteran as well as a member of First Church of the Brethren. Mr. Priddy served as a volunteer fireman for the Leaksville district for 20 years. He was also in law enforcement for many years before finally retiring as a truck driver for Wilson Trucking Company.
He is survived by son, Wesley Priddy and wife, Susan of Eden; daughter, Linda O'Neal and husband, Fred of Madison; two grandchildren, Ronald David "J. R." Priddy, Jr. and wife, Tabitha and Wesley Wade "W. W" Priddy; one great-grandchild, Leland Priddy; and two brothers, Bob Priddy of Eden and Ronnie Priddy of Stoneville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Corinne Moore Priddy; son, Ronald David Priddy; and brothers, L. J . and Larry Priddy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 419 Glovenia Street.
