Gene Franklin Kallam, formerly of Eden, North Carolina, passed away at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia on May 3rd, 2024.
The family will host a reception on Tuesday, May 21st from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Morehead Fair House in Eden. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life.
Gene was born on April 6, 1941 to the late James Richard Kallam and Jessie Austin Kallam. He worked for EI Dupont in Martinsville before retiring. He was a member of Draper Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Kennon Kallam, daughter Vanessa Kallam Wilker-son (husband Robert I. Wilkerson), two grandchildren Caitlin Wilkerson Whitaker (husband Zack Whitaker) and Seth Kennon Wilkerson (wife Lindsey Wilkerson), six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Delores Kallam Younger, Marlene Kallam Newsome, Molly Bea Kallam Harris, and brother James Richard Kallam Jr.
