Gene Earl Ward, Sr.

Gene Earl Ward, Sr., 91, passed away Tuesday night, April 13, 2021, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 17, at Fellowship Baptist Church.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born August 15, 1929 in Leaksville, NC, Gene was the son of the late John Ward and Mabel Nuckols Ward.  He was a self employed insurance salesman for many years, sold real estate and was a home builder.  Gene was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Vilma Warf Ward of the home; four children, Becky Hopper (David), Brian Ward (Sherron) and Tanya Isley, all of Eden; daughter-in-law, Karen Ward of Eden; four grandchildren, Michele Archer, Michael Austin, Laura Easter and Tyler Ward; five great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Compton of Ridgeway, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gene E. Ward, Jr. and his siblings, Jack Ward, Max Ward, Mary Lou Reynolds and Henry Ward.
