Gary Lynn Ratliff, Sr.

Gary "Goober" Lynn Ratliff, age 72 of Pelham, passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, November 11, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Goober was born February 8, 1952 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late John Alec Ratliff, Jr. and Lillie Hundley Ratliff. He graduated high school in the class of 1970. Goober worked as a Pipe Fitter for Duke Energy until his retirement. He enjoyed going to the coast and fishing with his son and granddaughter. He loved his family and they cherished him.

Surviving are his son, Gary L. Ratliff, Jr. (Nikki) of Maysville; grandchildren, Lily May Ratliff, Jacob Eric Ratliff, Robert Ramsey, Seth Gray Ramsey; great-grandchild, Cameron Ramsey; sisters, Gloria R. Hall (Jimmy), Tammy Pruitt (Mark), Kathy Hayes (Randy), Dawn Soloman (Larry).

In addition to his parents, Goober was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Ratliff and brother, Jerry Ratliff.
