Frederick "Fred" William Rorrer of 655 Park Avenue, left his earthly home of 52 years to go to his heavenly home in the early morning hours of Monday, October 11, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, October 16, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Cherished by proud parents, William "Bill" Rorrer and the late Veronika P. Rorrer, Fred was born and raised in the city of Eden. Fred was a 1976 graduate of Morehead High School and a 1982 graduate of NC State University. He was currently employed by the State of NC as a "Wildlife Hunter Education Specialist". First and foremost, Fred was a dedicated father and husband to his children and beloved wife. He knew no greater love than that for his family. In his early years, Fred was an accomplished motocross competitor. Throughout his life, Fred was an avid hunter and general all-around respected outdoorsman. Those left here on this earth to honor and cherish his memory include his wife of 24 years, Cathy Evans Rorrer of the home; daughter, Ashley Paige Rorrer; son, Justin William Rorrer; sister, Delores Horne; and other loved family members and many close and dear friends. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (3 - 4 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
