Frank Ray Mitchell, 81, of 5500 River Edge Ct. in Gibsonville, passed away Sunday morning, November 9, 2014 at Maple Grove Nursing Center in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, November 12, in Overlook Cemetery in Eden.
Mr. Mitchell was born July 12, 1933 in Cary, NC to the late Edgar and Madie Bell Barber Mitchell. He was a retiree of Rexam Printing Company. Frank attended NC School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC and was an avid UNC-Chapel Hill sports fan.
He is survived by his son, Charles Ray Mitchell of Orlando, FL; sister, Barbara Hodges of Greensboro; brother, Leon Robertson; several nieces and nephews; a large extended family through his wife; and his long-time friend and caregiver of 16 years, Robin Dillard of Stokesdale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Merritt Mitchell; son, Richard "Ricky" Mitchell; and his brothers, Raymond Mitchell and Clyde Robertson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday (3 - 3:45 PM) at Fair Funeral Home, before proceeding to Overlook Cemetery.
