Frances Wells Barker

Frances Mae Wells Barker, 79, of 714 West Avenue in Eden, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 16, at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mrs. Barker was born August 16, 1938 in Henry County, Virginia to the late William Richard Wells and Annie Mae Sims Wells.  She was a retiree of Ridgeway Clock, Inc.  Frances enjoyed fishing, music and loved to dance.

She is survived by her four children, Richard Corum (Pamela) of Ruffin, Shelby Brown (Jimmy) of the home, Virginia Mabe (Danny) and Frances Massey (Buck) both of Stoneville;  10 grandchildren;  14 great-grandchildren;  brother, James Wells (Betty) of Stoneville;  and sister, Inez Compton of Ridgeway, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Barker, Jr. and brothers, Ralph, Wayne, William Wells.
