Frances Virginia Carter Quick, age 97, formerly of West Main Street in Stoneville. For the past 15 years she has resided at Brookdale Senior Living (formerly Eden Estates), where she passed away on Friday morning, July 24, 2015.

A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Quick was born December 11, 1917 to the late Ben Muse Carter and Mary Virginia Matthews Carter. She attended East Carolina University and later graduated from National Business College in Roanoke, VA. After college Frances worked for US Post Office in Greensboro before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed music and was an excellent piano player.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Collins and husband, Charles "Chuck" of Smithfield, North Carolina; son, Earl McKever "Mac" Quick, Jr. of Mt. City, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Carrie Carter Rafferty of Smithfield and Benjamin "Ben" Rafferty and wife, Nicole of Whitsett; great-grandson, Kellen Jameson Rafferty; and a niece, Jennie Lynch Mays of Raleigh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McKever Quick; sister, Marjorie Carter Lynch; and niece, Patricia Lynch Lovell.
