Frances Stephens

Frances Earl Stephens, 102 years old, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, in Chenoa, Illinois.  She was formerly of Eden.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 17, at Overlook Cemetery.  

Frances was born December 23, 1916 to the late Joseph and Ethel Snow Porter.  She was a quiet, sweet woman and enjoyed her family.  Frances moved to Bloomington, IL, twelve years ago and she missed her church family and here dear friends in Eden.  She loved to laugh and enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing.  While in Eden, and later in Bloomington, she  was a member of Silver Sneakers which kept her in shape.  North Spray Christian Church was Frances' lifetime church which she continued to support while living in Bloomington.  She was a friendly, happy person and was well liked by many.  She will be missed.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Martha F. Stephens and Myrna L. Stephens.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Stephens;  brother, Jesse Porter;  and an infant sister, Lillian Porter.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Spray Christian Church in Eden, NC;  to the Mennonite Retirement Home;  or a charity of the donor's choice.
