Frances Martin Rhodes

Frances Martin Rhodes, 89, of 1128 Ellett Avenue, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 6, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel . Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Rhodes was born September 28, 1920 in Rockingham County, NC, daughter of the late Hugh and Eva Martin. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren and was a homemaker. Surviving are two sons, Duane Rhodes and wife, Rhonda of Eden, and Sam Rhodes, III and wife, Patsy of Winston-Salem; five grandchidlren, Mike Rhodes, Jesse Mize, Tina Hale, Colin Rhodes and Evan Rhodes; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Hugh Martin, Jr. and Calvin Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Buck Rhodes, Jr., son, Donnie Rhodes; daughter, Diane Rhodes; and grandson, Chris Rhodes.
