Frances Horsley, 74, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday November 6th, 2025.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.
Born and raised in Eden, North Carolina, Frances was the daughter of the late C. Garland Hailey and Cornelia Thomas Hailey. She lived her life supported by a large and loving family, including her brothers Neil, Buck, William and Allen Hailey, and sisters Evelyn Earles, and Betty McGavisk and found great joy in spending time with her many nieces and nephews who referred to her as Aunt Frannie.
She was the devoted wife to John Wayne (JW) Horsley, her best friend, and the proud mother of John Russell Horsley (Alysha).
Nothing brought a bigger smile to Frances’s face than her grandson, Henry Horsley, whom she traveled everywhere to spend time with, including NYC and San Francisco. She affectionately referred to him as “the bestest grandson in the whole wide world” and embraced him in a big hug every chance she got.
Frances led a life guided by her faith and was an active member of Trinity Wesleyan Church for numerous years, teaching Sunday school as well as vacation Bible school. She also had a soft spot for kittens needing a good home and provided a nurturing home for many.
A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and aides with ANCORA who provided skilled and compassionate care for Frances.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Frances to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 186 E Aiken Rd, Eden, NC 27288.
