Frances Gibson Craddock

Frances Xaxier Gibson Craddock, age 79, formerly of 532 Franklin Drive passed away late Saturday evening, December 22, 2018 at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with burial to follow the service in Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1-2pm) and other times at 3769 Morgan Ford Road in Ridgeway, Va. 

Mrs. Craddock was born on July 6, 1939 in Rockingham County to the late, O.C. Gibson and Magdalene Cook Gibson.  She was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church until her health started failing.  Frances was an English and Spanish teacher for the Henry County School System.  She was on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Eden.  She will be missed by all that knew her. 

Frances is survived by her son, Lee Craddock and wife, Myra of Ridgeway, VA; two grandchildren, Jim and Casey Craddock; sister, Anna Mae Gibson Carter and husband, Tom of Ridgeway, VA; brother, Neil Gibson and wife, Debra of Ridgeway, VA and her niece, Karen Setliff.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Alcorn.
